Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study.

Steps to process your Work-Study Award

  1. Receive your appointment letter
  2. Go to the Work-Study job listings (Career Services Web site)
  3. Go to the Work-Study forms page
  4. Visit the department you wish to work for and complete all necessary forms (appointment form, I-9, state and federal tax forms)
  5. Send all forms to 120 Crofts Hall before you begin working (see Work-Study payroll calendar to receive your paychecks on time )

Note:

  • All required forms must be submitted to 120 Crofts Hall at least one week prior to submitting your timesheet.
  • There will be a 6 week delay from the date you submit your timesheet before you will receive your 1st paycheck.
  • We recommend that you enroll in Direct Deposit (PDF).
  • Address Changes: E-mail Roseann Brzozowiec at rbrzozowiec@business.buffalo.edu with your name, person number, old address, and new address.
  • Agency Code for all Federal Work-Study direct deposit forms is 28033
