Penalties for Non Payment of Bill
Late Payment Fee
A Late Payment Fee is determined by the total account balance not paid by the bill due date.
Bursar Checkstop/Hold
Checkstops/holds are assigned each semester to every bill that is not paid in full. The checkstop/hold prohibits registration, sending of transcripts and diplomas, and release of any information about your academic career.
Collection
The University sends delinquent accounts to a collection agency. Unpaid bills which reach this stage may negatively affect your credit rating, and may be subject to additional fees or service charges under section 18 of the state finance law.
